El Vía crucis es transitado en sus 14 grupos escultóricos durante todo el año por los peregrinos, pero especialmente en la fiesta Patronal donde llegan en los últimos años más de 100 mil personas congregadas en los 3 días de festividad.
Las estatuas del Vía crucis que fueran esculpidos por el artista italiano Nicolás Arrighini en mármol de Carrara y de tamaño similar al de una persona. Fueron encargados por el Obispo Diocesano Mons. Emilio Di Pasquo y quedaron inaugurados en una gran ceremonia el 3 de mayo de 1951.
